District Council Elections: 4 candidates withdrew their nomination papers

Una, May 14. On the first day of the nomination withdrawal process for the 17 wards of Una district for the Zila Parishad elections, four candidates withdrew their nomination papers today (Thursday). Among them, Preeti from Ward 16 Chalet of Gagret and Sham Lal from Ward 17 Bhanjal Lower have withdrawn their nomination papers. Similarly, Sunita Kumari from Ward 2 Kuthera Khairla of Amb and Pawan Kumar from Ward 4 Sohari of Bangana have withdrawn their nomination papers. Apart from this, no one has withdrawn their nomination in Haroli and Una. Now, 49 candidates are in the fray.
District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that a total of 55 candidates had filed nomination papers in the district, out of which the nomination papers of 2 candidates were cancelled while today 4 candidates have withdrawn their nomination papers.

He said that candidates will now be able to withdraw their nominations on May 15. After the withdrawal process is complete, candidates will be allotted election symbols and the final list of candidates will be published.
