CM Sukhu’s Family Welfare Scheme to Benefit 782 Families in Tutu Block

Shimla, Sept 6: Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh said the state government’s ‘Mukhyamantri Apna Parivar Sukhi Parivar’ scheme aims to ensure that eligible families receive the benefits of government welfare programmes.

Speaking at an awareness and interaction programme at Dudhalthi in Shimla Rural, Singh said around 782 families from Tutu development block have been identified under the scheme. The deadline for applications in the current phase is September 20, 2026.

The scheme seeks to connect economically vulnerable families, women, elderly persons, pensioners and other needy sections with multiple state and central government schemes based on their individual needs. Eligible families may receive benefits including up to 300 units of free electricity per month and ₹1,500 monthly assistance for eligible women, besides support for housing and other welfare measures.

Singh said nearly 1.80 lakh needy families have been identified across Himachal Pradesh through a state-wide survey. He directed officials to ensure maximum registration of eligible families and provide assistance throughout the application process.

He also said development works worth around ₹900 crore are currently underway in Shimla Rural constituency. During the programme, residents raised local issues before the minister, who directed officials to address them on priority.
