PM Modi’s 12-Year Tenure Has Set New Benchmarks in Development: Jairam Thakur

Bilaspur, Sept 6: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 12-year tenure has been historic, ushering in new milestones in development, governance and public welfare.

Thakur was speaking at a workshop organised under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ at Barmana in Bilaspur, where achievements of the Modi government over the past 12 years were discussed.

He highlighted claims of significant growth in defence production, electronics manufacturing, mobile phone production, railway infrastructure, internet usage, patents and digital transactions. He also cited expanded access to tap water, LPG connections, sanitation and housing for poorer sections.

Thakur said the government’s development approach has focused not only on major infrastructure projects but also on improving citizens’ quality of life. He highlighted initiatives including Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Digital India.

He said India has emerged as a confident global power and is increasingly turning challenges into opportunities. The vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’, he added, is a collective goal of the country’s citizens.

State BJP in-charge Rashmidhar Sood, district president Kishan Chand, MLAs Randhir Sharma, J.R. Katwal and Trilok Jamwal, Zila Parishad Chairman Lekh Ram, former minister Rajendra Garg and other party leaders and workers attended the workshop.
