Red Cross Society Always Ready to Serve Humanity: Manmohan Sharma
Youth Red Cross Unit Assistance Room Inaugurated at Government College Kandaghat
Solan, September 10, 2026 — Deputy Commissioner Solan Manmohan Sharma said that the Red Cross Society remains committed to serving humanity and providing assistance to people in need.
He inaugurated the Youth Red Cross Unit Assistance Room at Government College Kandaghat, established with the support of the District Red Cross Society Solan. Addressing students and others present, he said the new unit would not only provide assistance to needy people but also help young students develop humanitarian values, leadership qualities and sensitivity towards disaster situations and other emergencies.
He said the establishment of the district’s first such unit would further expand Red Cross services. He also urged the public to spread awareness about the facility so that those in need can benefit from it.
A blood donation camp was also organised on the occasion.
District Red Cross Society Solan Deputy Patron Lekhraaj Kaushik informed that 143 Junior Red Cross and Youth Red Cross Units have been established in schools and colleges across the district and connected through WhatsApp groups.
