BJP Hits Out at CM Sukhu for Bihar Campaign, Calls Alliance “Mahathagbandhan”

Shimla, October 30 — The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu over his Bihar visit, accusing him of misleading voters outside the state while Himachal continues to face crisis-like conditions.
BJP’s Chief Spokesperson Rakesh Jamwal said that after allegedly deceiving the people of Himachal Pradesh with false promises, the Chief Minister is now attempting to impose the same “thug model” in Bihar. He described the Opposition alliance there not as a Mahagathbandhan, but a “Mahathagbandhan” (grand alliance of deceivers).
Jamwal claimed that thousands of disaster-affected families in Himachal are still waiting for rehabilitation, yet the Chief Minister is busy campaigning in Bihar instead of addressing local concerns.
He further alleged that Sukhu’s statement regarding providing ₹1500 per month to 2.87 lakh women in Himachal is incorrect, insisting that most eligible beneficiaries have not received any benefit so far.
Criticizing the state’s current situation, Jamwal said that roads remain damaged for months, hospitals lack proper staffing and medicines, contractors are unpaid, and employees are disappointed with the government’s policies — making the CM’s claims of Himachal being a “model state” “laughable and baseless.”
He asserted that Bihar’s people are aware and will not fall prey to political deception, adding that development and good governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi remain the voters’ preferred choice.
