World Veterinary Day Celebrated in Nahan
1 min readNahan, April 27: Additional District Magistrate and District Magistrate L.R. Verma chaired the celebration of World Veterinary Day organized by the Department of Animal Husbandry. Addressing the gathering, Verma emphasized the significance of veterinary services not only for the health and well-being of livestock but also for human and environmental health. He stressed that healthy livestock contribute to the overall health of communities and societies.
Verma highlighted the theme of this year’s World Veterinary Day, “Veterinarians: Essential Workers for Animal Health.” He underscored the annual observance’s importance in recognizing the dedication and hard work of veterinarians. He further stated that the day aims to raise awareness in society about two crucial aspects: the care of animal health and the prevention of animal cruelty.
During the event, Deputy Director of the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dr. Navin Singh, welcomed and honored the chief guest. Dr. Neeru Shabnam, Deputy Director of Veterinary Services, shed light on the history of the Animal Cruelty Prevention Committee (ACPC) established in the district of Sirmaur. Additionally, Dr. Ankit Sharma, Dr. Naresh Pundir, Dr. Mansi Sharma, and Dr. Ritika Gupta briefed the attendees on various diseases related to animals, departmental activities, and departmental initiatives.
Assistant Director Dr. Sandeep Sharma, Assistant Director (Projects) Dr. Vijendra Singh Nanda, Dr. Pramod Gupta, Dr. Ashok Sakhooja, Dr. Pawan Pandey, Dr. Kant, Dr. Amrish Gupta, Dr. Sachin Bindra, along with senior veterinary officials from the Sirmaur district, actively participated in the program.
