Periodic Labour Force Survey: DC Urges Public Cooperation

Solan | July 29, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Solan Manmohan Sharma has appealed to residents to cooperate with officials conducting the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS), which is being carried out across Himachal Pradesh from July to December 2026 under the directions of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India.

He said designated officials of the District Statistical Office will visit selected households across Solan to collect information through an online application in the prescribed format. Residents have been requested to extend full cooperation and provide accurate information. Survey personnel will carry official government identity cards and authorisation letters for verification.

The Deputy Commissioner said the primary objective of the survey is to collect accurate and reliable data for generating meaningful labour market indicators. The information gathered will help assess the social and economic conditions of residents and assist the government in formulating development policies aimed at improving living standards.

He assured citizens that all personal information collected during the survey will remain strictly confidential and will be used only for statistical and policy purposes.

Manmohan Sharma urged all residents to fully support the authorised survey teams and provide correct information so that the survey can be completed within the stipulated timeframe and with high quality.
