Kullu Convent Senior Secondary School Hosts Event on World No Tobacco Day

On May 31, 2024, in observance of World No Tobacco Day, the Human Welfare Organization held a program at Kullu Convent Senior Secondary School. The event saw the presence of distinguished guests including Dr. Vaidya from the Regional Hospital Kullu, Dr. Ashok Kumar, AGM from Malana Power Company, Human Welfare Organization Director Mr. Deepak Sharma, and board member Mr. Ishwar Katoch. The managing director of Kullu Convent School, Mr. Suresh Kumar, welcomed all the guests with traditional caps and shawls.

Dr. Vaidya from the Regional Hospital Kullu addressed the students, providing detailed information on the harmful effects of tobacco and its impact on children. He engaged in an interactive session with the students, answering various questions they had and appealing to them to stay away from tobacco and other substances.

AGM Ashok Kumar from Malana Power Company awarded prizes to the winners of various competitions organized by the school to mark the occasion. The winners of the speech competition were Devanshi from class 12 Science stream (first place), Saksham from class 11 Science stream (second place), and Aarav from class 10 (third place). In the painting competition, Anchal from class 12 Arts stream secured the first place, Priya from class 11 Commerce stream took the second place, and Vibhor Soni from class 11 Science stream came third. For the slogan writing competition, Siddharth from class 10 won first place, Rohit Thakur secured the second place, and Madhav Raj took the third place.

The chief guest congratulated all the winners and expressed his best wishes. The Human Welfare Organization Manali arranged refreshments for all the children. The event was a significant step in raising awareness among students about the dangers of tobacco and encouraging them to lead healthy, tobacco-free lives.
