Class XI Welcomed with Grace, Glamour, and a Celebration of Sisterhood
Shimla, 17 May 2025:
In a historic first, Auckland House School for Girls introduced a ramp walk as part of its annual Freshers’ Party, marking a memorable celebration for the incoming Class XI batch (2025–26). Held in the school auditorium, the event was filled with vibrant energy, stylish flair, and the unmistakable bond of sisterhood that defines the Auckland House legacy.
A total of 66 new students were welcomed by their Class XII seniors in a colourful and inclusive celebration. In a reversal of traditional roles, the Class XI girls draped in elegant sarees stole the spotlight as they confidently walked the ramp to the applause of their seniors, who were dressed in chic western formals. This was the first time the school incorporated a ramp walk into the Freshers’ event—an initiative that was widely appreciated for promoting self-expression, poise, and confidence.
The program began with a cultural presentation, including a soulful welcome song and lively group dances, followed by fun games and ice-breaker activities. The ramp walk and the title ceremony were the highlights of the afternoon. Judged by Mrs. Shalini and Mrs. Parul, along with Ms. Ritanjali Hastir, Editor of Himachal Tonite, the contest celebrated grace, personality, and stage presence.
Titles awarded during the ceremony included:
- Ms. Fresher: Saanvi Bharota
- First Runner-Up: Aradhya Gangta
- Second Runner-Up: Mehwish Chauhan
Judges praised the girls for their confidence and elegance, applauding the school’s efforts in nurturing empowered young women. “It’s refreshing to see such a positive environment where girls are encouraged to celebrate who they are,” they added.
Principal Smaraki Samantaroy, expressed her joy and pride at witnessing such a graceful event.
The event concluded with music, dance, and high tea, leaving behind smiles, memories, and a strong start to the academic year for the Auckland House sisterhood.
