Voter Awareness Camp Organized in Bhoomti School to Emphasize the Importance of Voting

In an effort to raise awareness about the significance of voting, a Voter Awareness Camp was organized under the Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program by the Election Department, Arki, as part of the ongoing voter awareness campaign for the Lok Sabha elections. The camp took place at the Government Senior Secondary School, Bhoomti.

Professor Yashpal Sharma, the Nodal Officer for SVEEP, chaired the program and highlighted the Election Commission of India’s efforts to ensure maximum voter turnout in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He provided detailed information about the importance of voting and the registration process for new voters. Additionally, he informed the attendees about the facilities provided by the Election Commission for senior citizens (aged 85 years and above) and persons with disabilities (PWDs), including ramps, wheelchair assistance, and priority access at polling stations. Furthermore, arrangements were made for home voting for PWDs and elderly voters, who would need to fill out a 12D form for this purpose.

Professor Sharma appealed to all citizens and elected representatives to actively participate in the democratic process by casting their votes. He encouraged students to motivate their parents and acquaintances to vote.

Dr. Hem Raj Surya, the SVEEP Officer, urged everyone to exercise their voting rights in the elections.

The Principal of the school, Hem Raj Gaud, also urged all students to inspire their parents and acquaintances to vote.

The event was attended by representatives from the local panchayat, Panchayat Secretary Vijayalakshmi, Sarpanch Kuldeep Sharma, Booth Level Officer Vimala Sharma, and all staff members of the school.
