Town Hall to have Restaurant

The oldest civic body in the country, Shimla Municipal Corporation, has invited bids to lease out the ground floor of Town Hall to run a high-end restaurant on the historic Mall Shimla.

A notification issued by Shimla MC said that MC would lease out space for running of a high-end restaurant on the Ground floor of Townhall Shimla fixing minimum reserve license fees of Rs five lakh.

The tender cost of the bid is fixed Rs 500 and the concession period of the bid is 12 years. The bid was published online on Oct 23, 2020. The bidder could download the tender form and submit it between from Oct 23 to Nov 13 by 5.00 PM.

The notification said that the Technical bid would be open and its evaluation would be done on Nov 13 and the financial bid will be opened on Nov 17.

Earlier to this town hall housed Shimla Municipal Corporation Office, before its renovation till 2013-14. However, State High Court decided not hand it over to the Civic body based on a PIL last year.
