Shimla Winter Carnival to Resume from January 2 with New Artists and Events

Shimla, December 31, 2024:
Shimla Municipal Corporation will resume the Winter Carnival from January 2 at Ridge Ground, after postponing events due to the demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. This year’s carnival will feature new artists, including Bollywood playback singers and local performers. Punjabi singer Satinder Sartaaj will kick off the event on January 2, followed by comedian Rajeev. Other performers include singers Alamgir Khan, Sujata Pathak, Ritu Pathak, and Arvind Singh Rajput. Local hill artists such as Kuldeep Sharma, Neha Dixit, and Anuj Sharma will also entertain the crowd.

For the first time, the carnival will host the “Winter Queen” contest and the “Voice of Shimla” competition. The event will be held from January 2 to 8, with stalls set up for visitors’ enjoyment.
