1 min read

Kullu, April 27: A district-level road safety committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Anurag Chandra Sharma, focusing on strengthening road infrastructure and ensuring safer travel across the district.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that road safety is a shared responsibility between the administration and the public. Key routes including Manikaran–Barshaini, Siund–Raila, and NH-305 were reviewed due to heavy traffic and tourist movement. The committee stressed the need for detailed proposals to improve these roads and reduce risks.

Officials have been directed to conduct joint inspections of major roads with police authorities and submit comprehensive reports for necessary improvements. Instructions were also issued to accelerate road works, install signage, crash barriers, proper lighting, and remove encroachments along highways to prevent accidents and ensure smooth traffic flow.
