Preserving Dev Culture is Our Collective Responsibility: Sanjay Awasthi

Solan, June 15: Arki MLA Sanjay Awasthi said that Dev Culture is an integral part of Himachal Pradesh’s identity and preserving it is the collective responsibility of society. He was addressing the closing ceremony of the District-Level Badidhar Fair in Gram Panchayat Saryanj of Arki Assembly constituency.
Earlier, Awasthi offered prayers at the Bada Dev Temple and prayed for the well-being and prosperity of the people of the region.
Addressing the gathering, he said that fairs and festivals strengthen social harmony and provide a platform for youth to showcase their talents through cultural and sporting activities. He congratulated the fair organizing committee for successfully conducting the event.
The MLA said that traditional fairs and festivals across the state are celebrated with government support, helping preserve cultural heritage and pass on valuable traditions to future generations. He thanked Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for upgrading the historic Badidhar Fair to district-level status, describing it as a significant step towards preserving Dev Culture.
Highlighting development initiatives in the region, Awasthi said efforts are being made to promote religious tourism and strengthen infrastructure in Badidhar. He informed that the proposed ropeway connecting Savava village to Badidhar has been included among priority projects and is expected to be developed at an estimated cost of ₹150 crore.
He also said that the Forest Department has prepared a blueprint for developing eco-tourism in the area and the tendering process for related development works has already begun. The initiative is expected to boost tourism and create employment opportunities for local residents.
On the occasion, Awasthi announced ₹2 lakh for the construction of parking facilities at Badidhar and ₹1 lakh for the expansion of the helipad near Pammad. He also assured financial support for the construction of a drinking water storage tank in the Chanaid area.
The MLA also heard public grievances and directed officials to ensure their early resolution.
