Haroli Under-14 zonal tournament concludes; winners honoured

Kangar school to get music classes, additional building and solar plant

Una, September 5: The 41st Under-14 Boys’ Zonal Sports Tournament of Haroli concluded at PM Shri Government Excellent Senior Secondary School, Kangar, on Saturday, with Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri honouring the winners and outstanding players.

The three-day tournament, held from September 3 to 5, witnessed participation of 346 players from 35 schools in volleyball, kho-kho, kabaddi, chess, wrestling and badminton.

Agnihotri announced that music classes would be introduced at Kangar school from next year. He also announced a four-room additional building, a solar power plant and an improved drainage system. He further announced Rs 5 lakh each for development of lanes in Wards 2 and 5.

Earlier, he inaugurated the school’s digital library built at a cost of Rs 13.75 lakh and announced Rs 31,000 for students participating in the cultural programme.

In the tournament, GHS Gurplah won the volleyball and wrestling titles, GSSS Dulehar won kabaddi, GSSS Haroli won badminton, Government Middle School Lower Lalhri won kho-kho and GSSS Batt Kalan won chess. The march-past trophy went to PM Shri Government Excellent Senior Secondary School, Kangar.
