Heavy Vehicles Carrying Construction Material Restricted in Dharamshala During IPL Matches
1 min readDharamshala, May 11: Hemraj Bairwa, District Magistrate of Kangra, has imposed restrictions on heavy goods vehicles carrying construction material in and around Dharamshala during upcoming IPL matches at the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium.
Exercising powers under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, the District Magistrate ordered that vehicles carrying sand, gravel, cement, steel bars and similar construction material will not be allowed to operate in the area from six hours before the commencement of IPL matches until the conclusion of the games.
The restriction will remain in force on May 11, 14 and 17, 2026, when IPL matches featuring Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru are scheduled to be played at the Dharamshala stadium.
The administration stated that a large number of cricket enthusiasts from across India and abroad are expected to visit Dharamshala during the matches, and movement of heavy vehicles could affect smooth traffic flow and public convenience.
Officials clarified that the restrictions will apply only on IPL match days.
