Una, April 28: In view of rising temperatures and the likelihood of heatwave conditions, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has issued a public advisory urging residents to take necessary precautions to safeguard their health. He warned that hot winds and extreme heat can pose serious health risks if adequate care is not taken.
Residents have been advised to avoid stepping out during peak sunlight hours, stay well-hydrated, wear light and loose cotton clothing, and cover their heads while outdoors. The advisory also recommends consuming fluids like ORS, lemon water, buttermilk, and fresh fruit juices, while avoiding heavy and high-protein foods. Special care has been urged for children, the elderly, and animals, with strict instructions not to leave them in parked vehicles and to ensure proper shade and hydration.
In case of heatstroke symptoms, individuals should be moved to a cool place, given fluids, and provided immediate medical attention if the condition does not improve. The administration has also advised people to stay updated with weather forecasts and remain cautious during extreme heat conditions.
