DC Una Directs Intensified Anti-Drug Drive, Stresses Road Safety Measures

Una, April 28: Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has directed all departments to strengthen efforts against drug abuse and ensure effective road safety measures across the district. Chairing meetings of the district-level NCORD committee and the District Road Safety Committee, he emphasized accountability, coordination, and strict enforcement to create a safer environment. Police Superintendent Sachin Hiremath was also present.

The DC instructed strict implementation of the anti-drug campaign, regular monitoring of de-addiction centres, and active involvement of पंचायत-level committees, youth groups, and community organizations. He called for prompt reporting of suspicious activities and warned against any negligence.

On road safety, he ordered identification and rectification of black spots, installation of safety infrastructure, and strict action against reckless driving. Measures such as enforcing no-parking and no-vending zones, improving pedestrian facilities, and installing awareness signboards at key locations were also emphasized to reduce accidents and ensure smooth traffic management.
