Shimla, July 19, 2026: The Ministry of Education has lauded Himachal Pradesh’s ‘Swaad Sangam’ initiative under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat campaign, featuring the programme on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle. The recognition highlights the state’s efforts to promote cultural exchange through education.
As part of the Kerala–Himachal Cuisine Exchange Month, 918 government schools across Himachal organised food and cultural activities in June, engaging 18,656 students and 2,464 teachers. Students explored the culinary traditions of both states by preparing and showcasing dishes such as Himachali Dham, Siddu and Babru alongside Kerala’s Sadya, Appam and Payasam.
Samagra Shiksha Director Rajesh Sharma said the national recognition reflects Himachal’s commitment to fostering cultural understanding, national integration and experiential learning among students through innovative educational initiatives.
