Education Minister Rohit Thakur Attends Temple Consecration Ceremony in Jubbal

Shimla, April 23, 2026: Himachal Pradesh Education Minister Rohit Thakur attended the consecration ceremony of the newly constructed Jaga Mata Temple in Kot Kaina Panchayat of Jubbal subdivision.
Extending his greetings to devotees on the occasion, the minister highlighted the cultural and spiritual significance of the region, often referred to as “Devbhoomi.” He emphasized the need for the younger generation to move forward with changing times while staying rooted in their cultural heritage.
Speaking on development works in the area, Thakur said that ₹15.29 lakh has been sanctioned for the renovation of the temple. He added that six new roads have been constructed in Kot Kaina Panchayat during the current government’s tenure, with an expenditure of ₹4.30 crore. Additionally, 18 new roads have been developed in the Bushahr region.
He further informed that construction of a Primary Health Centre at Jhadag, costing ₹1.56 crore, and a Government Senior Secondary School building at Sari, with an outlay of ₹2.38 crore, are currently in progress. A NABARD-funded road project connecting Harijan Basti Mandhol to Shelapani Johata is also underway.
Highlighting broader development in the Jubbal–Kotkhai constituency, the minister said that around 175 new roads have been constructed in the past three years. He also mentioned the ongoing construction of a Teacher Training Centre near Dakaid village at a cost of ₹17 crore.
He described the approval of a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Kotkhai as a major achievement, stating that classes have already commenced for the current academic session, with the process of appointing teachers underway.
Emphasizing the importance of sports, Thakur said the government is committed to the holistic development of children. He noted that students are currently receiving training in nine sports hostels across the state, including the Thakur Ram Lal Government Senior Secondary School Girls’ Sports Hostel, where facilities have recently been expanded to include kabaddi, badminton, and soon boxing. A new building for the hostel has been constructed at a cost of ₹2.27 crore.
Several dignitaries, local representatives, and members of the temple committee were present on the occasion.
