Shoolini University celebrates Teachers’ Day with Marathon

‘Run for a Drug-Free Tomorrow’ promotes fitness, healthy living and a drug-free society

Shoolini University organised the Shoolini University Marathon on Teachers’ Day, bringing together more than 500 students, faculty members and staff for a 14-kilometre ‘Run for a Drug-Free Tomorrow’ from Thodo Ground, Solan, to the university campus at Bhajol.
The marathon was organised to promote fitness, discipline, healthy living and awareness about the importance of a drug-free society. Participants from different age groups joined the run with enthusiasm, turning the event into a celebration of fitness, determination and community spirit.
A key highlight of the marathon was the participation of Chancellor Prof. P. K. Khosla, who completed the full 14-kilometre route and secured first position in the 70+ years category. His participation served as an inspiration to the runners and reinforced the message that age need not be a barrier to fitness and an active lifestyle.
The marathon was organised jointly by the Sports Department and Dean Student Welfare Department (DSW), Shoolini University, under the guidance of Associate Dean, Student Welfare, Prof. Neeraj Gandotra. Assistant Director, Sports, Mr Vikrant Chauhan coordinated the event, while the overall organising management was led by Director Operations (Retd) Brig S. D. Mehta.
The event witnessed participation across several age categories. In the boys’ category, Shivnash secured first position, followed by Ankit Rana in second and Aman Raj in third. In the girls’ category, Isha secured first position, while Ayushi and Shreya finished second and third, respectively.
In the 30–40 years category, Gaurav Sharma secured first position, while Kapil Verma stood second. Satish Bhatia secured first position in the 40–50 years category.
In the 50–60 years female category, Chief Learning Officer Mrs Ashoo Khosla secured first position. In the corresponding male category, Founder, Shoolini University and President, Innovation and Marketing, Shoolini University, Ashish Khosla secured first position.
In the 60–70 years category, Col K. S. Nagial and Retd Brig S. D. Mehta secured first positions. Prof. P. K. Khosla secured first position in the 70+ years category after completing the entire marathon.
On the occasion, Prof P K Khosla highlighted the importance of physical activity at every stage of life. The marathon also provided an opportunity for the university community to come together on Teachers’ Day around the shared message of fitness, well-being and a drug-free future.
