BJP Will Retain Mandi MC, Win Other Civic Polls: Jairam Thakur

Mandi, May 04: Jairam Thakur expressed confidence that the BJP will retain the Mandi Municipal Corporation and emerge victorious in other civic bodies as well. Addressing a press conference alongside candidates, he alleged that the current state government has consistently neglected Mandi district and claimed that public resentment is growing across Himachal Pradesh over the government’s three-and-a-half-year tenure.
He further stated that even Congress leaders are now openly criticizing their own government, citing recent remarks by Kaul Singh Thakur. Thakur warned officials against working under political pressure and asserted that upcoming municipal and panchayat election results would mark the beginning of a larger political shift against the ruling Congress government.
Several BJP leaders and candidates were present at the briefing, where the party also outlined its election strategy and emphasized unity ahead of the polls.
