Telangana Education Director Praises Himachal’s Digital Education Reforms and 6A-Based Vidya Samiksha Kendra Model

Shimla, May 20: Telangana Samagra Shiksha Director and Director of School Education Dr. E. Naveen Nicolas met Himachal Pradesh Samagra Shiksha Director Rajesh Sharma at the Samagra Shiksha Directorate in Shimla on Tuesday. The two officials held detailed discussions on innovations, digital reforms, quality improvement initiatives and student-centric approaches being implemented in school education in both states.

Dr. Naveen Nicolas appreciated Himachal Pradesh’s efforts to improve the quality of education, strengthen administrative efficiency and enhance learning outcomes. He took keen interest in the 6A framework-based Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) model developed by Samagra Shiksha Himachal Pradesh, which integrates Attendance, Assessment, Administration, Accreditation, Adaptive Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

He said Himachal Pradesh has developed a strong data-driven governance system by integrating various digital initiatives, enabling timely decision-making, effective school monitoring and improved learning outcomes.

Rajesh Sharma informed that the Vidya Samiksha Kendra in Himachal Pradesh has evolved beyond a simple dashboard and functions as a comprehensive platform for data-driven decision-making, decentralised review systems and AI-based administrative management. He highlighted that integration of attendance monitoring, competency-based assessments, school accreditation, digital tracking and adaptive learning has strengthened accountability and quality in school education.

The Telangana official described Himachal Pradesh’s VSK model as an inspiring initiative for the country and said the effective implementation of the 6A integration model presents a new direction for educational transformation.

Dr. Naveen Nicolas also praised Himachal Pradesh’s remarkable performance in the Performance Grading Index (PGI) 2.0 report. According to the Ministry of Education’s PGI 2024-25 report, Himachal Pradesh improved its score from 573.8 in 2023-24 to 659.2 in 2024-25, moving from 13th to 6th position nationally.

He further appreciated the state’s strong performance in the PARAKH Survey 2024 and ASER report, where Himachal Pradesh ranked among the top-performing states in learning outcomes.

Rajesh Sharma said Samagra Shiksha is continuously working towards integrating technology, innovation and quality-based learning in school education to provide better learning opportunities for students. He added that the meeting was significant for sharing best practices and educational innovations between the two states and would help strengthen future cooperation in education reforms.
