Education Minister Inaugurates Two-Day Tribune Edu Expo 2026 in Shimla

Shimla, May 20: Himachal Pradesh Education Minister Rohit Thakur inaugurated the two-day “The Tribune Edu Expo Shimla 2026” at the historic Ridge Ground on Mall Road, Shimla. The education and career guidance expo is being organised on May 20 and 21 and will remain open from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Addressing the gathering, the Education Minister said that such education expos play an important role in guiding students about higher education, career opportunities and professional courses. He said India has established a strong global identity in technology and modern innovation, and educational institutions have a key role in preparing students with industry-oriented skills.

Rohit Thakur said that in the era of digital technology and artificial intelligence, efforts are being made to provide skill-based education to students. He added that expos like these help students understand the wide range of courses and career paths available after school education.

Representatives from leading universities and educational institutions are participating in the expo to provide information to students and parents regarding higher education opportunities, professional courses and career planning. Career counselling experts are also offering guidance sessions for students during the event.

During the programme, nearly 150 students who scored 85 percent or above in the recently declared Class 10 and 12 board examinations were honoured by the Education Minister.

According to the organisers, the expo aims to help students explore academic opportunities, interact directly with experts and make informed decisions about their future careers.

Several reputed institutions including Chitkara University, Amity University Punjab, Chandigarh University, Shoolini University, CGC Landran, Aryans Group of Colleges, Bahra University, Sri Sukhmani Group of Institutions, Graphic Era University, ICFAI University and Maharishi Markandeshwar University are participating in the event.

Director of Higher Education Dr. Harish Sharma, Tribune General Manager Amit Sharma and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
