Himachal to Launch ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0’ in Mission Mode, Targets 11 Lakh Saplings

Shimla, July 16: Himachal Pradesh will implement the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0’ plantation drive in mission mode, with a target of planting 11 lakh saplings across 16,998 schools by September 30. During a state-level video conference, officials from the Forest and Education Departments stressed coordinated implementation to make the campaign a mass movement for environmental conservation.

Samagra Shiksha Director Rajesh Sharma said the initiative aims not only to increase green cover but also to instill environmental responsibility among students through active participation of schools, teachers, local communities, and Van Mitras. Monitoring committees will also be constituted at the divisional level to ensure effective execution.
