Sports Should Be an Integral Part of Life, Says Shimla DC Anupam
Shimla, November 1: The two-day Anand Mela at Shoghi concluded on Sunday with Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap attending the closing ceremony as Chief Guest.
Addressing the gathering, Kashyap urged youngsters to make sports an integral part of their lives and stay away from substance abuse. He highlighted the role of sports in physical and mental development, healthy living and employment opportunities through sports quotas in government departments.
He said local fairs play an important role in preserving cultural traditions, bringing communities together and strengthening the rural economy. He also assured that efforts would be made to expedite development works in local panchayats and resolve pending revenue-related cases through a special campaign.
