Thousands of CPIM Workers from Himachal Pradesh Join INDIA Bloc Rally in Delhi
Shimla, November 1: Thousands of workers of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) from Himachal Pradesh participated in the INDIA Bloc’s mega rally held at Ramlila Maidan, New Delhi, on November 1, alongside a large gathering of people from across the country.
The rally demanded the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and legal action against him over alleged large-scale deletion of voters’ names. The protesters also called for cancellation of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, restoration of deleted voter names, amendments to the law governing the appointment of Election Commissioners and comprehensive electoral reforms.
In a press statement, CPIM Himachal Pradesh State Secretary Sanjay Chauhan said the massive public participation sent a strong message to the BJP-led Central Government that the movement to protect democracy, constitutional rights and electoral integrity would continue until the demands were addressed.
