Shimla, May 27: BJP chief spokesperson Rakesh Jamwal on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on Congress minister Vikramaditya Singh, alleging that he is frustrated over the party’s declining political support and repeated setbacks in local elections.
Responding to recent statements made by Vikramaditya Singh, Jamwal claimed that the Congress leader was making baseless remarks against BJP state president Dr. Rajeev Bindal due to political insecurity and the weakening position of the Congress in Himachal Pradesh.
The BJP spokesperson stated that the results of the Panchayati Raj elections clearly reflected public disappointment with what he termed Congress’ “anti-development and anti-people politics.” He alleged that people across the state have rejected the ruling party’s style of governance.
Rakesh Jamwal further claimed that despite personally campaigning in areas such as Rampur and Sunni, Vikramaditya Singh failed to secure victories for Congress-supported candidates. He alleged that even in regions considered politically influential for the minister, Congress candidates faced defeat.
The BJP leader said the victory of BJP-backed candidates in Panchayat elections demonstrated growing public support for development-oriented politics, transparency and strong leadership.
Jamwal also remarked that both the Congress party and Vikramaditya Singh were facing political decline and accused the minister of attempting to create confusion through statements disconnected from facts.
He reiterated that the BJP remains committed to respecting public mandate and working for the development of Himachal Pradesh.
