SUEZ Speeds Up Road Restoration After Pipeline Work in Shimla

Shimla, July 28 : SUEZ has intensified repair and restoration work on roads and pathways damaged during the laying of water supply pipelines under the 24×7 drinking water project being implemented in collaboration with the Shimla Jal Prabandhan Nigam Limited (SJPNL).

The company said pipeline installation has been completed in most parts of several city wards, while work in the remaining areas is progressing on a war footing. Damaged roads are being restored with cement to ensure uninterrupted movement of residents, particularly during the monsoon.

According to the company, pathways and staircases that originally had tiled surfaces will be restored in phases after the rainy season. For now, priority is being given to making all affected routes safe and motorable.

SUEZ has issued strict directions to contractors to maintain quality standards during restoration work and avoid any compromise in repairs. The company acknowledged that continuous rainfall has slowed restoration activities but assured that all works would be completed with high-quality standards while addressing public inconvenience at the earliest.

The company also appealed to residents to cooperate during the ongoing pipeline installation and restoration work, reiterating its commitment to providing safe and reliable 24×7 drinking water to Shimla.
