Deputy Commissioner Administers Anti-Terrorism Pledge in Shimla

Shimla, May 21: The Shimla district administration organised an Anti-Terrorism Day pledge ceremony at the Deputy Commissioner’s office premises on Wednesday to mark Anti-Terrorism Day observed across the country.
Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap administered the anti-terrorism pledge to officers and employees, urging them to stand united against terrorism and violence. Officials and staff members from various departments of the district administration participated in the programme.
Anti-Terrorism Day is observed every year on the martyrdom anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi.
Addressing the gathering, Anupam Kashyap said terrorism remains one of the biggest threats to humanity and stressed the need for every citizen to remain aware and vigilant. He said collective efforts are essential to maintain the unity, integrity and peace of the nation.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that the objective of observing Anti-Terrorism Day is to strengthen the spirit of peace, harmony and brotherhood in society so that there is no place for violence and extremism.
He also urged youth to play a positive role in nation-building and contribute towards maintaining social harmony and communal unity.
During the programme, officials and employees reaffirmed their commitment to oppose all forms of terrorism and violence and work towards preserving national unity, peace and social harmony.
