Jairam Thakur Questions Delay in ₹1500 Scheme for Women in Himachal

Shimla, May 03: Jairam Thakur has raised serious concerns over the delay in the *Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi* scheme, claiming that nearly 10 lakh forms submitted by women remain unaccounted for. He alleged that despite promises of ₹1500 per month to women aged 18–59, no funds have been disbursed even after months. Thakur also criticized the state government for allegedly discontinuing welfare schemes like Shagun, Kanyadaan, and Beti Hai Anmol. He questioned why benefits were limited to select constituencies and demanded transparency on the status of applications, stating that women deserve clear answers.
