Jairam Slams Government Over B-1 Exam Mismanagement

Shimla, October 26, 2025: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur criticised the state government for the mismanagement during the Himachal Police B-1 departmental promotion examination, calling it an example of administrative failure under the so-called “Vyavastha Parivartan” regime.
He questioned how the government could promise one lakh jobs when it could not properly conduct an exam for just 4,000 candidates. Thakur said candidates were left waiting for hours due to technical glitches — with issues ranging from unlinked servers, incorrect questions, and time discrepancies to students being forced to take multiple shifts. The chaos ultimately led to the cancellation of the exam.
Thakur accused the government of failing to make necessary preparations or conduct a trial run, claiming that this negligence exposed the inefficiency and misplaced priorities of the administration. He added that the Congress government had dissolved the Staff Selection Commission to deliberately delay recruitment and deprive youth of employment opportunities.
Later, Thakur listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat” at his official residence, praising it as a platform that celebrates India’s talent. He also echoed the PM’s appeal to participate in the upcoming Run for Unity on October 31, marking Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th birth anniversary.
He further addressed a BJP Yuva Morcha meeting in Mandi, stressing that the youth wing forms the backbone of the organisation and plays a vital role in strengthening the party through discipline, dedication, and energy.
