Artists Spread Awareness on SC Welfare Schemes through Street Plays

Shimla, Sept 15 – As part of the statewide campaign on Scheduled Caste Welfare Schemes, cultural troupes of the Department of Information & Public Relations today performed folk songs and street plays in different gram panchayats of Shimla district.

Tri-Murti Rangmanch artists staged programs at Shoghi (Goro Kanaun) and Janol (Kaina) in Totu block, while Bhagwati Cultural Mandal, Shantha performed at Bamta and Nerwa panchayats in Chaupal block.

Through interactive performances, the artists highlighted schemes such as the Follow-up Program, Swarn Jayanti Aashray Yojna, Home Grant, Computer Application Skill Development, and the Inter-Caste Marriage Incentive Scheme. Awareness on drug abuse prevention and social responsibility was also emphasized.

The campaign aims to deliver welfare information directly to the people and strengthen social awareness at the grassroots.
