Shimla DC Approves ₹125 Crore Proposals for Disaster Mitigation

Shimla, Sept 12: Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Shimla, Anupam Kashyap, chaired a meeting where three proposals worth about ₹125 crore were approved for submission to the State Disaster Management Authority under the State Disaster Mitigation Fund.
The proposals include ₹90 crore for disaster-prone areas within Shimla Municipal Corporation, ₹14.98 crore for safety measures near the Slaughter House area of Krishnanagar, and ₹19.81 crore for restoration of sinking zones around Ramchandra Chowk, Hainault Public School, and Jakhu Housing Board Colony. The DC directed officials to attach video and photographic reports with the proposals and ensure scientific restoration methods.
Two other proposals, worth ₹2 crore (Pandar Kenchi to Chatog road) and ₹1.35 crore (Razhna to Savi road), were sent back for revision due to deficiencies.
Municipal Commissioner Bhupinder Kumar Atri, along with officials from PWD and other departments, also attended the meeting.
