RKMV Students Sweep All Three Medals at Culinary Festival

Shimla, Sept. 28: Students of Rajkiya Kanya Mahavidyalaya (RKMV), Shimla, won all three medals in the Young Chef category at the Himachal Culinary and Tourism Festival 2026, held at the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Kufri, on the occasion of World Tourism Day.

Riya of the Indira Gandhi Tribal Hostel won Gold, while hostel-mate Kalpana secured Silver. Priyanchal of the RKMV Tourism Department won Bronze, giving the college a clean sweep of the top three positions.

Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap, who attended the event as chief guest, appreciated the students’ performance and encouraged them to participate actively in such platforms.

RKMV Principal Dr. Anurita Saxena congratulated the winners and said the students had showcased Himachal’s folk traditions and culinary heritage through contemporary cuisine. She also appreciated faculty members Dr. Jyoti Pandey and Dr. Shrikant Sharma for guiding the college team.
