Documentary ‘The Bus Stop’ Highlights Elder Rights at HPNLU Shimla

Shimla, 26 May 2025: The Legal Aid Clinic of Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, organized a meaningful documentary screening titled “The Bus Stop”, centered on the rights and challenges of elderly persons.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mr. Vivek Mohan, the documentary sensitively portrayed the hardships faced by elderly women, particularly in public spaces and within family dynamics. Mr. Mohan was warmly felicitated by the university and delivered a powerful address, sharing the inspiration and social relevance behind his work.
The event witnessed active participation from students and faculty members. Following the screening, an engaging interaction unfolded where Mr. Mohan responded to questions and facilitated a dialogue around elder care, policy gaps, and societal awareness.
The initiative was steered by Dr. Alok Kumar (Chairperson), Dr. Ruchi Gupta (Faculty Convenor), and student convenor Saurabh Sadhwani. The session reaffirmed the Legal Aid Clinic’s commitment to promoting social justice and legal awareness through creative and impactful mediums.
