Prabhat Pheri to Be Held in Shimla on Gandhi Jayanti
Shimla, September 26: A Prabhat Pheri will be organised in Shimla on October 2 to mark Gandhi Jayanti, with participation from government departments, educational institutions, social organisations and the public.
Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap reviewed preparations for the event at a meeting with officials. The Prabhat Pheri will begin at 6 am from Lal Bahadur Shastri Chowk near the Central Telegraph Office and proceed through Lower Bazaar and Sher-e-Punjab Restaurant before concluding near Mahatma Gandhi’s statue on the Ridge.
The Deputy Commissioner directed officials to complete all arrangements in a timely and coordinated manner. Gandhi’s favourite bhajans and patriotic songs will be presented during the event to spread his messages and ideals.
Kashyap urged residents to participate in large numbers and observe Gandhi Jayanti by reaffirming their commitment to truth, non-violence, cleanliness and public service.
Additional District Magistrates Pankaj Sharma and Gyan Sagar Negi, SDM Urban Sunny Sharma and DSP Headquarters Vikram Chauhan were among those present.
