Himachal Pradesh shivers in severe cold after recent snowfall. Tabo recorded a chilling -17.3°C, while temperatures across snowbound areas remain below zero. Weather is expected to stay clear on January 1, but a new Western Disturbance will activate from January 2, bringing heavy rain and snowfall on January 5-6.
Dense fog continues to disrupt life in Una, Kangra, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, and parts of Mandi, with a yellow alert issued till January 2. Snowfall has left 138 roads, including two highways in Kullu and 130 roads in Lahaul, blocked. Power outages persist, with 60 transformers non-functional in Manali.
Plains of Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi are also grappling with biting cold and dense fog, with visibility dropping to 50 meters in some regions. Rain and snowfall are expected in the hilly regions and northern plains from January 4-6.
