Anurag Thakur Inaugurates State’s First 6-Lane Synthetic Athletic Track at Rajiv Gandhi High Altitude Training Center, Shilaroo
1 min readRajiv Gandhi High Altitude Training Center in Shilaroo saw the inauguration of a 200-meter synthetic athletic track by the Union Minister of Sports, Anurag Thakur. The central minister stated that the construction of the synthetic track was completed at a cost of nearly 3 crore rupees. This marks the state’s first 6-lane synthetic track, providing better facilities for athletes.
Anurag Thakur noted that the center was initially known for hockey training, but now, it will also be recognized for the synthetic track. He mentioned that every possible effort is being made to provide better facilities for athletes. Present at the event were State Minister for Public Works, Vikramaditya Singh, MLA Kuldeep Rathore, MP Suresh Kashyap, and Chopal MLA Balbir Verma.
On this occasion, Vikramaditya Singh, the Minister for Public Works, mentioned that the state’s youth lag behind in sports. He assured that the state government will work closely with the central government to support the youth. He also expressed concern that although athletes from other states work hard at the Rajiv Gandhi High Altitude Training Center in Shilaroo, local athletes do not have the opportunity to train there.
