NHPC & THDC Discuss Mega Hydro Projects with J&K Lt. Governor

R. K. Vishnoi, CMD of NHPC & THDC, held a meeting with Hon’ble Lt. Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha. During the meeting, Sh. Vishnoi emphasized the importance of developing Mega Hydro Projects to tap into the untapped Hydropower potential in Jammu & Kashmir, contributing to the UT’s development, prosperity, and national energy and water security goals. Sh. Vishnoi mentioned the ambitious target of achieving Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2070 and highlighted J&K’s significant role with a potential of 20 Gigawatts. He also discussed the expertise of THDC and NHPC in Hydro Energy. The Lt. Governor praised NHPC’s efforts and assured full support for project implementation and exploration of new hydro projects.  Vishnoi thanked the Lt. Governor for his guidance and assured commitment to prompt action for harnessing new hydro projects.
