During the BJP’s “Sangathan Parv” program held at Field Hall Bhabanagar, Yashwant Singh was unanimously appointed as the BJP district president for Kinnaur. BJP leader and candidate Surat Negi was also selected as a state council delegate. Karn Nanda, BJP state media in-charge and election officer, announced the appointments, accompanied by Pyar Singh Kanwar and Surat Negi.

Nanda congratulated Kinnaur’s BJP workers for enrolling 11,051 primary members and 595 active members under the initiative. He emphasized the BJP’s commitment to rural development, highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for empowering rural India through basic facilities and initiatives like the Tribal Advancement Village Campaign.

Criticizing the Congress-led government, Nanda alleged rampant “mafia raj” in the state, with concerns over illegal deforestation, mining, and other unlawful activities. He cited alarming statistics of tree felling, with 82 trees cut down illegally in Kinnaur alone, part of a larger issue affecting various districts.

Nanda lauded BJP’s contributions to Kinnaur, including the allocation of ₹56.5 lakh under the Prime Minister’s Nutrition Scheme and BSNL’s initiative to install 50 new towers to address connectivity issues. He highlighted the distinction between BJP’s pro-public governance and Congress’s self-serving politics.
