Shimla Oct 11
Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh laid the foundation stone for the 2.16 km Kufridhar–Shanol road under the Chief Minister Rural Road Scheme during his one-day visit to Shimla (Rural). The project, costing ₹90 lakh, will enhance connectivity for local residents, with ₹20 lakh already released. Addressing the gathering at Devnagar Mulbari under the Minister at Your Doorstep initiative, Singh announced several development works, including ₹1 crore for Devnagar–Ghanahatti road metalling post-Diwali and ₹5 lakh from his MLA fund for local projects.
He highlighted that former CM Virbhadra Singh had initiated development works worth ₹1,500 crore in Shimla (Rural), and the state suffered losses of about ₹4,000 crore due to this year’s disaster. Singh also invited residents to attend the unveiling of Virbhadra Singh’s statue at The Ridge, Shimla, on October 13.
