Shimla, July 14

Aakash Sharma, a resident of Pujarli in Mehli panchayat near Shimla, has turned adversity into opportunity by launching his mobile repair business with support from the Himachal Pradesh government’s Chief Minister Sukhashray Scheme.

Orphaned after losing both his parents in 2020 and 2021, Aakash received monthly financial assistance under the scheme, completed a PGDCA course and mobile repair training, and was sanctioned ₹1.4 lakh as startup assistance. He has also applied for the final ₹60,000 instalment. District Magistrate Anupam Kashyap inaugurated his shop, “The First Inspection,” and described Aakash as a role model for other “Children of the State.” Officials said eight beneficiaries in Shimla district have already started self-employment ventures under the scheme.
