State’s Handlooms & Handicraft produce to be Made Available Online: Bikram Singh
2 min readShimla, Dec. 15 – Industries Minister Bikram Singh while presiding over the meeting of Board of Directors of Handlooms and Handicraft Corporation here today said that to realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of Atmnirbhar Bhart Abhiyan State Government is making determined efforts to encouraging handlooms and handicrafts of State.
He said that the officials have been directed to work on possibilities of making rich handlooms and handicrafts products available in international market through online medium. He directed officials to prepare clusters of artisans associated with rich handloom, handicraft and traditional toy art of the state at rural level and to provide them employment opportunities. He also directed to encourage state’s toy industry at National level.
Industries Minister said that under Mukyamantri Dastkar Sahayta Yojna and Mukyamantri Gram Kaushal Yojna along with reviving traditional handloom, handicraft and metal craft art works the State Government is also providing gainful employment opportunities to people at rural level. He said that under these schemes training have also been imparted among the youth of State. He said that State Government is not only striving hard in the direction of reviving traditional art, craft and culture of State but also providing self employment opportunities to the youth.
He also directed officials to prepare a draft of State level award scheme to honour the artisans who were rendering better services for the promotion of handlooms and handicrafts of the State. He said that the corporation should make appropriate arrangements to provide adequate facilities to market the products of national level awardees.
