Solan Bans Non-Essential Construction Activities Till August 31

Solan District Magistrate and Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority, Manmohan Sharma, has prohibited all non-essential construction activities, including hill cutting for private development projects, across the district until August 31, 2026. The order has been issued under Sections 33 and 34 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, in view of public safety and environmental protection during the monsoon season.
The restrictions will not apply to restoration of disaster-affected infrastructure or essential public works, including roads, water supply, electricity and emergency services. The order has come into immediate effect.
