Shimla Police Crack Sensational Murder Case in 39 Hours, Two Shooters Arrested from Haryana

Shimla, June 15: In a major breakthrough, Shimla Police has solved the sensational murder of Manisha Mittal within just 39 hours of the crime, arresting two alleged shooters from Haryana and recovering both pistols used in the killing.

The incident took place on the evening of June 13, 2026, when unidentified assailants shot dead Manisha Mittal near Saraswati Paradise International Public School in Housing Board Colony, Shimla. The murder had sent shockwaves across the city due to its brazen nature.

Acting swiftly, police launched a multi-layered investigation under the supervision of senior officers. Forensic experts were called to the crime scene, and multiple special teams were formed to pursue leads across Himachal Pradesh and neighbouring states, including Haryana.

Investigators examined eyewitness accounts, analysed CCTV footage, scrutinised electronic and digital evidence, and activated intelligence networks to track the suspects. During the probe, police identified the accused and discovered that they had travelled to Shimla in a white Swift car. To evade detection, the vehicle allegedly carried a fake Himachal Pradesh registration number from the HP-10 series instead of its original Haryana registration.

Based on technical and physical evidence, Shimla Police traced the suspects and conducted a special operation in **Rohtak, Haryana**, leading to their arrest.

The accused have been identified as:

Ashish Ahlawat (22), resident of Dujana village, Jhajjar district, Haryana.
Deepak (25), resident of Sunaria Khurd, Rohtak district, Haryana.

Police have also recovered the two pistols allegedly used in the murder.

According to police records, Ashish Ahlawat has a previous criminal case registered under Section 308 BNS at Urban Estate Police Station, Rohtak. Deepak is reportedly involved in four previous cases, including two under the Arms Act, one assault case, and another under Section 308 BNS.

Police officials said the case was cracked through a combination of rapid response, scientific investigation, intelligence gathering, and effective interstate coordination. The investigation is continuing to ascertain whether additional individuals were involved in planning or executing the crime.
