HPTDC Withdraws Hotel Discount Facilities for Board Members and Accredited Media Persons

Shimla, June 15: The Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has withdrawn the discount and concessional accommodation facilities previously extended to its Chairman, Managing Director, Members of the Board of Directors, and Accredited Media Persons with immediate effect.

The decision follows directions issued by the Government of Himachal Pradesh through the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department. According to the communication, the withdrawal has been necessitated by the prevailing financial situation of both the State Government and HPTDC.

In an order issued by HPTDC Managing Director Rajiv Kumar, all hotel unit managers, drawing and disbursing officers (DDOs), and unit in-charges have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the revised instructions. The order clearly states that no discounts or concessions shall be provided to the specified categories from the date of issuance of the directive.

The corporation has also warned that the concerned officers will be held personally responsible for any violation of the instructions.

The move is part of broader efforts aimed at rationalizing expenditure and improving the financial position of the state-run tourism corporation.
