Revenue Minister inaugurated Eklavya Adarsh Residential School's hostel building

An amount of Rs 1 lakh was announced for the promotion of cultural programmes and other activities in the school.

Revenue, Horticulture and Tribal Development Minister Jagat Singh Negi formally inaugurated the newly constructed hostel building of the Eklavya Model Residential School located in Holi, a tribal area of Chamba district. Built at a cost of Rs 4 crore 11 lakh, this hostel building accommodates 60 students. This multi-story building has 10 rooms, each of which can accommodate six students.

Addressing the gathering, Jagat Singh Negi said that the Eklavya Model Residential School is an important government initiative to provide quality and excellent education to children in tribal areas. Extending his best wishes to all the students and residents of the area, he said that through these schools, children from tribal areas are receiving both education and better opportunities for all-round development.
He stated that the remaining construction work on the Eklavya Vidyalaya Holi building will be completed soon, and the necessary formalities are being completed. He added that the land earmarked for the Holi helipad, which was proposed for the Eklavya Vidyalaya, will be retained as a helipad.
Jagat Singh Negi said that students from the state’s Eklavya schools are performing remarkably well in various fields, including education and sports. He encouraged students to pursue their duties with consistent hard work, discipline, and dedication to achieve success in life.
He urged students and youth to stay away from the dangerous drugs like chitta that are spreading in society and to be aware of the ill effects of drugs. He said that youth power is the future of the country and the state and that young people should channel their energy into positive activities and creative work.
On this occasion, he also announced to provide an amount of Rs 1 lakh for Ekalavya Vidyalaya.

He said that the Himachal Pradesh government is continuously striving for qualitative improvement in the field of education in the state and as part of these efforts, CBSE curriculum has been introduced this year in 150 schools across 60 assembly constituencies of the state. Jagat Singh Negi said that despite the natural disasters that struck Himachal Pradesh during the years 2023 and 2025, losses worth thousands of crores of rupees were incurred. Despite this, under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, uniform all-round development is being ensured in the state. He said that through continuous efforts by the state government and coordination between various departments, effective steps are being taken to restore essential services and normalize life in the affected areas and the government is continuously working for rehabilitation and development in the affected areas.
