Reminder for Aadhaar Seeding of Bank Accounts for Central Sponsored Scholarships
1 min readDespite repeated reminders sent for the seeding of Aadhaar cards with bank accounts for centrally sponsored scholarships in universities and colleges, students continue to study without completing this process. The Education Department has released a list of such students, totaling 16,366 from both post-matric and pre-matric categories, who may face deprivation of their scholarships.
In detail, there are 5,124 students for the pre-matric scholarship in the academic year 2022-23 and 4,972 students in 2023-24. Similarly, for the post-matric scholarship, there are 3,056 students in 2022-23 and 3,214 students in 2023-24. The Education Department has once again written to the university chancellor and school principals regarding this matter. It is essential to seed bank accounts with Aadhaar to ensure that students can benefit from both scholarships.
Students Can Check Seeding Status Themselves:
After seeding their Aadhaar with their bank accounts, students can check the seeding status on the UIDAI website. The scholarship amount for the year 2022-23 will only be disbursed once this process is completed. The department has clarified that merely linking bank accounts with Aadhaar is not sufficient; it is mandatory to seed bank accounts with the Aadhaar number. Students can seek assistance from bank employees for this process.
