Solan Red Cross Continues Dedicated Humanitarian Service: DC Manmohan Sharma

Solan, April 17: Deputy Commissioner Manmohan Sharma stated that the District Red Cross Society Solan is working with unwavering commitment and a spirit of service towards humanity. He urged more people to join the Red Cross and become lifetime members to strengthen support for the needy.

Chairing a review meeting of the Indian Red Cross Society (District Solan unit), he highlighted that 213 individuals have received physical assistance and two have been provided financial aid through the Red Cross help desk at the regional hospital. During the financial year 2025–26, financial assistance amounting to ₹2.73 lakh was extended to 42 beneficiaries.

The Deputy Commissioner directed better coordination with the health department for organizing medical and blood donation camps across sub-divisions. He also emphasized organizing camps for specially-abled individuals and awareness drives against drug abuse in educational institutions.

He expressed gratitude to Budh Ram Verma for donating ₹1 lakh for the welfare of needy women and children and appealed to citizens to contribute generously towards humanitarian causes.
